KingCMS X1 is distributed under the KingCMS X1 License Agreement v2.4. The front-end footer shows a «Powered by KingCMS» link by default. The free edition may be used for commercial purposes, including corporate websites, provided that the link is retained. Removing that link requires a commercial license.

The free edition of KingCMS X1 can be freely downloaded, deployed and used, and may be used for commercial purposes, including corporate websites. The front-end footer shows a standard «Powered by KingCMS» link by default; keeping that link means free use.
When a commercial license applies
When you need to remove the «Powered by KingCMS» link from the front end, a commercial license is required. Licenses are registered per root domain and cover www and all subdomains under that root domain; a license is valid long-term and cannot be transferred. A commercial license is for own use by the same economic entity (the same legal person) only; building sites for other economic entities requires a batch license, see /license/batch.

Licensing is governed only by agreement (the KingCMS X1 License Agreement v2.4, rights holder: Guangzhou Weizhong Network Technology Co., Ltd.).
License code verification
The license is issued by the official website as a digitally signed license code (token). KingCMS X1 verifies this code in the admin panel and then removes the front-end Powered by link.
